Heya, we've got an SSI Deep Course coming up on Saturday and Sunday June 13th and 14th. Certifies a diver to dive to 39m and teaches a lot about Gas planning, management and how to safely ascend from depth.

Requirements for this course:
•⁠  ⁠Advanced Open Water or equivalent. Can discuss getting you certified before this course if you are only Open Water
•⁠  ⁠⁠Recommend 10-15 logged dives. Not a requirement in the standards but a general recommendation from me in order to make it through the course in one piece 😊. As a general rule of thumb, be comfortable with neutral buoyancy and descending to 15-20m

Cost - Will depend on how many people are on the course. Club is not-for-profit and the final cost of the course will just be the expenses split between everyone. Aiming to max at 6 people and price it at $350 each.

Gear requirements - Club can provide tanks/weights/bcds/regs during the course at its usual rates (still cheaper than the shops). You’ll need your own mask, fins/boots, wetsuit. You should also have a computer/compass (recommended, not necessarily required. They are on the clubs regs if you are using those). And a SMB/Spool is also recommended, not required. I have 2 to loan, but having your own helps.

Timeline - Course is run over 2 days. Will run a workshop on an evening at UTS the week prior to ensure everyone’s paperwork is okay and theory is all digested properly. Will be run on a Saturday/Sunday. Timings will depend on how quickly the course goes, but as a general guide block out 8am to 5pm so that way you’re not rushed to get to your next appointment on either of the days.
