Come for a dive on one of the most popular dive sites on the Great Barrier Reef- Steve's Bommie- located up the Ribbon Reefs north of Cairns, beyond the reach of the day tripper divers. See it from the perspective of one of the thousands of yellow snapper that inhabit this pristine coral pinnacle.

Winning Video from the 2011 Sundive Byron Underwater photo shoot-out, this video highlights the incredible biodiversity at this great dive site, one of the top 10 in Australia, and shows some of the daily habits and behaviour of the marine residents of Julian Rocks.
 
This video celebrates the special value of marine reserves in maintaining biodiversity and providing a pristine marine environment to promote ecotourism (including diving). Seal Rocks is one of the best sites along the east coast of Australia to dive with Grey Nurse sharks. Filmed in Feb 2010, we swam amongst 90 sharks in the trench on the south side of Big Seal Island. This is one of the few remaining aggregation and breeding sites for this endangered shark. It is a privilege to share the water with this graceful predator.
 
Filtered through 45m of green algae particles, sunlight became a pale olive green distant glow, turning a dive on Sydney's famous Coolooli wreck (bucket dredge ship) into a virtual night dive. This one is for all the rust lovers out there. Everyone else, .....just come across to the deeeeeeep side!!!
 
Part 2. 1500 km south of the Great Barrier Reef, the NSW coastline is home to a diverse mix of tropical and temperate marine ecosystems, from manta rays to fur seals, caves with sharks, wrecks and strange marine critters, and marine life yet to be discovered. Go on, take a dive soon. Filmed 2000-2005. In part 2, go down on a wreck, penetrate a cave, and come out the other end into a school of grey nurse sharks. Sharks filmed on location at South West Rocks, Sydney and Solitary Islands Marine Reserve.

9-Mile Reef, off the NSW Tweed Coast, has a mix of tropical and temperate fish species. During the warmer months, you can see leopard sharks cruising over the reef or resting on the sandy bottom- a real treat indeed.
 
Looking glass cave, at Broughton Island near Port Stephens, NSW, is one of the few aggregation sites for the endangered Grey Nurse Shark. A great dive in a narrow slot surrounded by sharks. Close encounters from every angle.
 
It is rather deep under The Arch; a large span of rock hanging over a fish saturated dive site, with the depth below the arch ranging between 30 - 40 m. This is one of our favourite dives at one of DOUTS Dive Club's favourite destinations.
 
The Swansea Bridge spans the narrow channel that connects Lake Macquarie with the Pacific Ocean. Powerful currents rip through this channel, but a dive here in the slack tide reveals the prolific life that hangs around the fixed growth that smothers every surface of the bridge pylons. Kurnel is a great shore or boat dive near Sydney, that never fails to deliver great critter encounters, colourful terrain, and fish action, all in an easy 10 - 20m depth.
 
In May 2007, we experience superb visibility in Sydney, with 50m viz that rivaled that of the Coral Sea in northern QLD. This is a reminder to dive like crazy while the conditions are like this. Shot on my old standard def Sony PD100.
